8-year-old Cayden Taipalus was left dumbstruck after watching another student leave a full tray of food with the lunch lady and walk away hungry. Cayden was sad and confused so he spoke with his mother about what he had seen. That’s when he came up with his project, Pay It Forward: No Kid Goes Hungry. Cayden and his mother worked together collecting recycling to raise money for students who couldn’t pay for their lunch. He asked family and friends to volunteer their time or just turn over their bottles and cans. It wasn’t long before he covered the cost of all the hungry students in his school, and then the entire school district. When this video was filmed, Cayden’s project had funded the hot lunch of no less than 295 needy students. If you ever needed to feel hope, watch Cayden’s story below.
