Boy dresses like security officer for ‘Favorite Person Day’ because he protects them

When he was asked who he wanted to dress like for his school’s “Dress as Your Favorite Person Day,” Easton Blocker immediately shouted “Officer Cross!”

He was referring to Jeffery Cross, the security officer for Easton’s kindergarten in Jacksonville, Florida. When asked why he chose Officer Cross, Easton said “that’s who keeps us safe.”

“He’s infatuated with Officer Cross,” Easton’s mother, Lauryn, explained in an interview with Good Morning America. “He will tell you, ‘That’s my best friend!’”

Lauryn bought a yellow shirt and black pants to build Easton’s costume and added “Junior Security” to his shirt using vinyl letters.

Officer Cross was deeply touched by Easton’s gesture of love and admiration.

“Most of the scholars are expected to dress as their teachers or fellow classmates. Easton, ever since the first day of school, he comes up and hugs me. He’s adorable. He has a very fun, high-spirited personality,” he told GMA.

The Jacksonville North Pulaski School District shared Easton and Officer Cross’s story on their Facebook account, calling it a “beautiful moment.” The district also said that the story shows that anyone can be a hero to someone.
