Staff a Food Lion supermarket store in North Carolina called the police after witnessing a woman stealing food. The two officers were able to identify the woman and went searching for her at her home.
When Officer 1st Class Candace Spragins and Senior Corporal Keith Bradshaw arrived at the offender’s house, they weren’t prepared for what would happen next.
The mother of three adopted children gave back the $36 worth of food that she had taken. She sobbed and apologized after that.
As she continued to explain herself, the officers opened her refrigerator and knew this wasn’t a crime of greed.
