The news media held it’s breath when an “emergency meeting” was held at Buckingham Palace. Everyone assumed there would be an announcement about either Queen Elizabeth’s or Prince Philip’s health. A French media outlet even jumped the gun and reported that 95-year-old Philip had died.
When it was revealed that Philip was simply announcing his retirement, which makes sense for a man of his age, social media was flooded with some absolutely hilarious reactions.
