Jamie Carlton, a Colorado homeowner, returned home and reviewed his front door’s security camera footage. What he found astounded him.
Jamie stood there watching as three children parked their bikes and walked up to his house. His security system’s automated voice said, “Hi, we can’t answer the door right now, but the camera is recording. So please just leave us a message. Thanks for coming by.”
The kids placed something on the doorstep and then turned to the camera saying “We found your wallet outside of your car, and we just thought we would give it back to you so. I’m going to put it over here so no one takes any money.”
The wallet was filled with $700 in cash. It was Jamie’s son Nigel’s wallet, which had fallen out of his pocket after work.
The three kids then hopped back on their bikes and rode away down the street, as captured by the camera.
The children’s generosity astounded Jamie, but he had no idea who they were or where they lived. As a result, he shared the security footage on Facebook in the hopes that someone might recognize them.
The video went viral, and the three young volunteers were quickly lauded as hometown heroes.
