Malaysia Airline flight MH17 was shot down while traveling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur on July 17, 2014. All passengers, including 80 children, were killed in the crash. At the time, most people believed Russian-backed Ukranian separatists were responsible for the attack, but Russia strongly denied any connection to the crash. More than two years later, a Joint Investigation Team has revealed the conclusions of their criminal investigation. They have determined through a combination of video, photographs, eye-witness accounts, and messages sent through social media that the Buk missile was brought to Ukraine from Russia by a convoy which returned to Russia after the launch.
