Being at home during a home invasion is among the most terrifying things that can happen to a person. Although we all hope that we will be able to act appropriately when necessary, you can never be sure.
Fortunately, one Texas mother maintained her composure and was able to defend herself and her three kids. Around 10 p.m., the quick-thinking mother heard a noise while her children were asleep in bed at home.
She heard the burglar entering her laundry room. As he left the small space and entered the main home, mom opened fire.
The mother shot twice, both shots were on target and hit the intruder in the chest. The invader, later identified as Roman Rodriguez, 41, passed away while being taken to a nearby hospital.
It’s unknown if Rodriguez had a weapon on him when he entered. According to police, the mother will not be held accountable for his death. She was grateful that she and her three children had survived this ordeal despite being shaken.
