It was already a busy Friday night for Kahlief Hill, manager of the Hampton Inn in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, when he found a moment to spread some joy.
Hill was on yet another phone call when he saw a young boy appear at the front desk. Colin, a 13-year-old boy with autism, asked the night manager if he’d like to watch a card trick.
Little did Colin know that Hill was also a fan of magic. For the next half hour, Colin and Hill took turns showing each other their favorite card tricks.
The next night Colin returned again, having forgotten one of the tricks Hill taught him. “Come back out; I’ll show you again,” the kind manager said. Once again, Hill spent the evening engaged with Colin.
After Colin went to bed, his mom Megan told Hill how much those magic tricks meant to Colin. She also wrote about the manager’s act of kindness on Facebook and sent the message to his boss.
It’s not often that strangers will interact with Colin and Hill’s attention meant the world to Megan and her family.
