Woman discovers mom’s secret ‘death notebook,’ helps her write hilarious obituary

Emily Phillips died one month after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the age of 69. While putting her affairs in order, Emily’s daughter Bonnie Upright discovered a secret binder labeled ‘Emily’s Death Notebook.’ Emily had neatly organized all of her final wishes to be carried out after she passed away. It turns out the former beauty queen planned on extending her wit and charm well into the afterlife. “I do find it surprising that she was able to work in the words ‘hiney’ and ‘naked’ in the obituary, that might have been a surprise. The fact that she did it, and she did it in context, is beautiful,” her daughter said after Emily’s obituary went viral. See her story in the charming video below. We should all be so lucky to treat death with the grace, dignity, and humor of Emily Phillips.
