Yahya Hashemi, the owner of a small restaurant in Montreal, Canada, is raising eyebrows after posting a sign about panhandlers to his front door.
After being flooded with people looking for spare change, Hashemi decided to do something about it. He let them eat for free.
Clear as day in simple black letters on a white sheet his message reads “People with no money welcome to eat free,” in both French and English.
Hashemi’s restaurant Marché Ferdous has been giving away free food to those in need for more than five months now. While some people think Hashemi is crazy to just give away his main source of revenue, the kind hearted entrepreneur believes his generosity will be paid forward, and that’s profit enough for him.
