Bill and Barbara Doughten have lived in the same house for decades. Both in their 70s, the Doughtens have started to have trouble with their health. Bill’s leg started to give him trouble recently so he’s been parking in his yard so he won’t have to walk as far when unloading his groceries.
One day Bill found a rude note from an angry realtor,

It read “I’m trying to sell million dollar homes in the neighborhood. I drive my clients around and they see your car parked sideways on the front lawn! You have a driveway. Use it!”
Bill and Barbara were surprised but their granddaughter Teresa was furious. “I was very angry,” she told reporters. “They shouldn’t have gotten this letter.”
What’s more surprising is the complete lack of “million dollar homes” in their modest neighborhood. “I can do whatever I want to do,” Barbara said. “I’m not moving the car. I don’t know of any million dollar homes in this neighborhood.”
Unless they receive a complaint from the homeowner’s association, there’s nothing to stop Bill and Barbara from parking where ever they please as long as their car is on their property.
