Mr. Glascott, an Army veteran returning home for his son’s 9th birthday, made a chance encounter with a random stranger who changed his outlook on the world forever.

While waiting on his flight in Atlanta, GA, Mr. Glascott met a man named Brad. The two sat at their terminal and talked about their lives and families. It was the simple smalltalk between two gentlemen who just happen to be traveling in the same direction.

Before they boarded the flight, Brad asked Mr. Glascott to sign his textbook and include his address so that Brad could send him a letter. Mr. Glascott didn’t think anything of it and signed the book.

When his plane landed Mr. Glascott was so focused on seeing his family again he hardly noticed when Brad walked by and thanked his wife for his service.

Swept up with an emotional homecoming, Mr. Glascott didn’t give Brad a second thought as he and his family made their way toward the Great Wolf Lodge. Ready for a long family vacation together, Mr. Glascott was ready to spend a bit more than usual for his son’s birthday. As he handed over his credit card, the hotel clerk said there was a call for him from Brad.

What happened next left the whole family speechless. Brad had paid attention to Mr. Glascott’s story about an upcoming vacation, took note of the lodge where his family was staying, and called ahead to pay for their entire trip.

His story reminds us all the importance of honor and kindness. We can make the world a better place, with just one act of kindness at a time.
