Maddy Zaminski experienced something that no teenager should have to endure when two of her best friends passed away in the span of one week. She turned to her art teacher Janice Graf like many students would have done.
Graf says, “She needed someone to talk to. She was very distraught. I felt that she was in in crisis.” So Graf took her to 7-Eleven and bought her a cup of hot chocolate.
Zaminski says, “We’ve been told to trust your teachers and go to them when you need help and that’s exactly what I did.”
However, things took an odd turn when Graf found out that the officials at the school at banned her from the classroom. She had violated a policy about taking students off school grounds. Even Zaminski’s mother thinks it’s outrageous, “She got my daughter back to school and she took care of [her].”
Do you think the school took the rule too far?
