Sometimes you just need to take a break...

Autistic teen doesn’t have date to prom, then she’s called up onstage in front of her entire class

Last year, Maddie Morley, was 16-years-old and like most teenage girls wanted to go to prom.

The school year was coming to a close and Maddie hadn’t been asked yet. But that was all about to change.

Maddie has autism and prom isn’t necessarily created for kids with special needs. However Capital Christian Center created a special needs prom called Evening of Dreams, specifically for kids like Maddie. Now she just needed to be asked.

During a school assembly Maddie was asked on stage, but she had no idea what was about to happen.

Behind the stage curtain was Kooper Richardson, a popular senior and football player at Folsom High School, waiting to ask Maddie to Evening of Dreams. Kooper even missed his senior class trip to Disneyland  so he would be able to attend prom with Maddie.

The joy and excitement was easily visible on Maddie’s face when she was asked.

Watch the video to see her reaction, along with everyone else. What a guy!
