Entire town has a meltdown when Sheriff plans internet ban between Feb 28th and Mar 1st

The biggest problem with social media isn’t fake news, it’s readers who refuse to read.

A Sheriff’s Department in Kansas illustrated this problem when they announced that all access to social media would be restricted in their town for the days that fall between February 28 and March 1, 2018.

Here’s the notice shared on the Allen County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page,

Sadly, this joke went over most of the heads in Allen County.

Some people finally got the joke, while others were furious that the Sheriff’s office had tricked them. “We never said anything about people being stupid,” the Sheriff’s Office replied to one concerned citizen. “Sometimes people do make poor decisions and we have to step in. Same thing here on social media, people react to things without fully understanding them. We hope by this action people will understand how much social media impacts their lives.”

Fortunately, there were a few souls who have a good sense of humor.
