The 2016 election is showing an incredible turnout and the battleground states have never been more important. From the moment the polls closed, the eyes of the country have turned to the cluster of purple states including Florida, North Carolina, Virginia Pennsylvania, Ohio, Nevada, Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin, and New Hampshire.
Earlier this evening, Hillary Clinton had a narrow lead over trump with a weighted polling average across the 11 battlegrounds with 45.5% compared to Trump’s 43.3% according to Politico.com. Only Iowa and Ohio showed a strong lead in Trump’s favor.
As the votes were tallied, Hillary supporters were crushed as Ohio was taken by Trump . At the time of this post the election is still far from certain, but this shifting tide is definitely bad news for the Clinton campaign as Trump takes another 18 electoral votes.
