First responders have a tough job. They abandon everything except one thing — their duty. When they get the call, they’re on their way. It may mean leaving a social event, church, or simply a meal.
One Golden Corral customer named Brittany Davis saw this for herself when she was eating dinner with some friends. She saw some Sheriff’s Deputies come in and get food.
As soon as they got their food and sat down though, their radios went off. In a nearby neighborhood, some shots had been fired. The Deputies immediately got up and left. Their food was untouched.
Davis felt inspired and grateful for their willingness to protect us no matter what. She posted on Facebook the story. She told everybody that most people wouldn’t abandon their dinners for the duty, but these people always do. She said, “I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to our officers. Thank you for the missed meals. Thank you for the sleepless nights. Thank you for the family time you’ve sacrificed. Most importantly, thank you for serving and protecting. You truly are everyday heroes.”
