Michael Douglas made headlines earlier this week revealing that his close friend Val Kilmer is losing a battle with tongue cancer. Douglas spoke about Kilmer in the past tense saying,
Val was a wonderful guy who is dealing with exactly what I had, and things don’t look too good for him. My prayers are with him. That’s why you haven’t heard too much from Val lately.”
The only problem? Douglas was wrong. Kilmer responded to Douglas’s claims saying that his Ghost in the Darkness co-star was “misinformed.” According to Kilmer, the pair of actors haven’t spoken in 2 years since he asked Douglas for help finding a specialist to examine a lump in his throat. In January of 2015 Kilmer was hospitalized to be tested for a tumor. At the time, Kilmer’s representatives announced that he was tumor free.
Kilmer insists that he is in good health and asks anyone in doubt to come see for themselves as he portrays American author Mark Twain live on stage in the play Citizen Twain.
