Mike Weirsky proposed to his then-girlfriend, Eileen, at a QuickChek convenience store in New Jersey nearly two decades ago.
Sadly, Mike and Eileen split in early 2019 after 15 years of marriage. For them, money was always a concern.
Eileen, who earned the majority of their income during their marriage, was ordered by the court to pay Mike spousal maintenance for the next five years.
The Mega Millions lottery winner was announced in March 2019. The winning ticket was purchased at the same QuickChek in New Jersey where Mike proposed to Eileen so many years ago. She was obviously taken aback when she learned that her ex-husband was the big winner.
Mike, who was apparently jobless during their marriage, was awarded $273 million mere months after the divorce was finalized.
The financial tides have turned as a result of her ex’s increased wealth; Eileen claims the alimony she’s paying Mike is “pocket change” for him.
She doesn’t want his money, she doesn’t want to reconcile – she just wants to stop paying him.
