Fans of film, theater, and TV were devestated last year when Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds both died suddenly within one day of each other.
The celebrity mother-daughter duo were incredibly close all the way up to their deaths. It’s fitting that mother and daughter now rest together beneath a special tombstone that symbolizes their love for one another.
The large marble statue that almost seems like a monument was revealed this week at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills. The memorial shows two figures, mother and daughter, embracing one another for all eternity.

The statue rests on a large headstone bearing the inscription “Debbie Reynolds April 1932 – December 28, 2016” and “Carrie Fisher October 21, 1956 – December 27, 2016.”
It was Debbie’s dying wish to be laid to rest beside her daughter. “She wanted to be with Carrie,” her son Todd Fisher told Variety on the day of her passing. In fact, those were the last words that she spoke this morning.”
