Earlier today, September 21, 2018, long lost footage of John Lennon and George Harrison was released to the public.
The recording below was made in 1971 as the iconic pair worked on “How Do You Sleep?”, a pointed song aimed at their former Beatles band-mate Paul McCartney.
Here’s a sample of the lyrics,
A pretty face may last a year or two
But pretty soon they’ll see what you can do
The sound you make is muzak to my ears
You must have learned something in all those years
There is something special about watching these two legends doing an actual take together.
Watch how they command their instruments. This sight was nearly impossible to behold after the Beatles stopped touring in 1966.
In the video below, viewers can enjoy the raw studio mix of the recorded audio. The release comes just weeks before the new 6-CD box set, Imagine – The Ultimate Collection, which will be available on October 5.
