A baby eagle is back home after being accidentally knocked out of its cliff-side nest on Catalina Island.
The young eaglet was asleep when one of its parents took off and bumped the poor little thing out of the family nest. Fortunately, the family of eagles were a part of a wildlife reintroduction program and the incident was caught on video
The baby bird was rescued after spending a few hours stranded on the rocky cliff face.
Wildlife biologist Peter Sharpe discussed the rescue with ABC News. “It’s about an hour hike from the nearest road,” he said. “I… checked its legs and its wings to make sure there wasn’t any obvious breaks. Internal injuries, I can’t say, but they’re pretty resilient,” said Sharpe.
