In 1990, HBO released a documentary called “Child of Rage.” It followed the story of a child named Beth Thomas who was full of rage.
Beth’s mother died when Beth was only a young child. Leaving her father to care for her and her baby brother.
Beth was sexually assaulted by her father until she was 19 months old. Eventually, both her and her brother were removed from the home and adopted by a couple named Tim and Julie.
At a young age, Beth was showing psychopathic behaviors. Her adoptive parents noticed that would also show some strange sexual behavior and had an intense interest in death and violence. Jonathan was also showing similar signs. Tim and Julie had no choice but the reach out to the adoption agency and ask some serious questions.
Beth was eventually diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD), which is caused by extreme physical or emotional abuse that doesn’t allow a child to bond or form connections with other people.
When Beth’s behavior became more violent, Tim and Julie could no longer care for her. Beth was placed with Connell Watkins, a professional therapist.
Beth made a great recovery with Watkins and now has a degree in nursing! She’s also written a book called “More Than a Thread of Hope.”
