If hurricane Matthew wasn’t already scary enough, recent satellite images reveal a grinning skull sharing its ghastly eye with the eye of the storm. Viewers immediately claimed the image was fake but WDRB meteorologists confirm it is very real. The image has a standard storm color gradient added to illustrate variations in hurricane severity, but mother nature decided the shape. The ghastly skull is just a coincidence.

Weatherman Matt Devitt at WINK found the skull as well. Even a with less contrast between the colors, the shape of the skull is clear as day. In his Facebook post Matt writes,
“SKULL OF HURRICANE MATTHEW
I can confirm this satellite image of Matthew’s landfall is REAL and not photoshopped. Captured this morning during my weathercast. Freaky!”
