She started small but kept adopting feral and abandoned cats. Pretty soon they took over the house and it became a no-kill sanctuary for her little friends in the sunny state of California.
In an interview, she says, “You can’t really call me a crazy cat lady – I’m obsessive! I’d rather have 800 cats than another man. I don’t need a man in my life.”
If you watch the video, you can see she’s really not a crazy cat lady. The house and plot of land are very well maintained by her and the staff of 45 that help own and operate what is now known as “The Cat House on Kings.”
The house itself features a kitchen where the cats are fed by the staff, a wood stove handled by the same staff, and a little kitten garden inside where rescued cats who have lived their entire lives indoors can get a feel for the grass before being offered the option to step outside on their own.
