School blames bullied girl for doing “weird things,” and Mom fights back

This is an enlightening documentary about the issue of bullying that affects kids and adults throughout the world. It follows the case of a 12-year-old girl named Tayla going through something no child should have to go through.

The school didn’t know what to do and ended up separating Tayla from the other students, simultaneously giving her “the solitary treatment.”

Her mother Kali took it upon herself to set things right. She confronted the school but never expected the response she got. The school blamed her daughter for being bullied. They said she did “weird things” that made her a target.

“I wanted to die,” Tayla says in the video. “I wanted to leave this world and never come back.”

Kali decided to send Tayla to live with her grandfather, and attend a different school. Accordingly, the difference is night and day. She’s been able to get a fresh start and make new friends. But it’s not so easy a solution for other children. If you know a child who is being bullied, visit StopBullying.gov for more information.
